The Game of Heh: Barakat Egyptian TreasuresExhibition «The Game of Heh : Barakat Egyptian Treasures»

Barakat Seoul presents 《The Game of Heh: Barakat Egyptian Treasures》, an exhibition that reinterprets the popular ancient Egyptian board game known as senet, from Tuesday, May 18 to Tuesday, August 31, 2021. The exhibition brings together the finest and historically valuable Egyptian pieces of utmost rarity from the Barakat Collection. It invites the viewers to take the role of a priest of ancient Egypt, playing a fantastical game with the gods, providing a rare opportunity to confront and behold the age-old antiquities. Following the directions on the Egyptian hieroglyphs and the beckoning hand of a male sculpture from the New Kingdom Era, the visitor finds themselves playing the role of an Old Kingdom priest. After their encounters with the enchanting gestures of the bronze cat-headed goddess Bastet and the stealthy procession of Duamutef (who has the head of a jackal, like the guardian of the underworld Anubis), they confront the mask of a mummy bearing the face of the departed, and then the Field of Reeds where the god of eternity Heh sits upon his seat of gold.
