Exhibition «The Game of Heh : Barakat Egyptian Treasures» Barakat Seoul presents 《The Game of Heh: Barakat Egyptian Treasures》, an exhibition that reinterprets the popular ancient Egyptian board game known as senet, from Tuesday, May 18 to Tuesday, August 31, 2021. The exhibition brings together the finest and historically valuable Egyptian pieces of utmost rarity from the Barakat Collection. It invites the viewers to take the role of a priest of ancient Egypt, playing a fantastical game with the gods, providing a rare opportunity to confront and behold the age-old antiquities. Following the directions on the Egyptian hieroglyphs and the beckoning hand of a male sculpture from the New Kingdom Era, the visitor finds themselves playing the role of an Old Kingdom priest. Exhibition «Secrets of Wooden Puppets – Czech Marionettes» Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage in 2016, Czech puppetry is one of the most popular leisure cultures in the Czech Republic which holds 200 years of history. Puppetry served as a network of communication between cities in its early days. There were many famous puppeteers such as Jan Jiří Brát (1724-1805) and Matěj Kopecký (1775-1847). Photographic exhibition «JoonKeun Lee: CHAOSMOS» JoonKeun LEE is a convergence artist who uses mathematical logic on aesthetic values of objects for his inner experiences that he felt from various aspects of his life, producing unique photographs. Starting with fiber art, his artworks have continuously expanded based on design, contemporary art, and photograph images, and have manifested very passionate and surrealistic perspectives. As shown in the dictionary definition of “Chaosmos,” the title of his exhibition, ‘order within chaos,’ the images that do not seem to get along with this exhibition have been combined and stable artworks have been created. Also, the images that seem to get along have been assembled but unexpected and chaotic works have been recreated, highlighting the artist’s experimental perspectives.
